Interview with Yann Weymouth: Architect behind the new Salvador Dali Museum

Wednesday 02, November 2011 | By Mary Elete

For anyone who has visited the Downtown St. Pete area, then you know it's hard to miss the gorgeous brand new Salvador Dali museum that opened this past April. This absolutely stunning pice of architecture was created by Yann Weymouth (hoks). The museum is home to the biggest collection of Dali art in the world and ever since the opening of the Dali Museum, over a quarter of a million people have already walked through the doors. Florida is prone to nasty storms and hurricanes during the summer so it comes as no surprise that the construction of the building is built to withstand a Catergory 5 hurricane and also features a solar hot water power system, high efficiency HVAC system, and much much more. If you happen to be over in St. Pete and have yet to visit the Dali museum, do yourself a favor and head on over there.
